This Privacy Policy describes how Kohar Innovations Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), operating Indigenous Job Board Canada at indigenousjobboardcanada.ca (the "Platform"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information. We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, post a job, apply to or express interest in a posting, make a purchase, submit a contact form, or otherwise interact with the Platform. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, billing information, the contents of your job postings or applications (which may include a resume), and any other information you choose to provide.

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Platform, such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and other usage data. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Platform; process transactions and send related information such as purchase confirmations and invoices; create and manage your account; facilitate job postings and applications; send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages; respond to your inquiries and support requests; monitor and analyse usage and activity; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and other unlawful activity; and comply with our legal obligations. We rely on your consent, the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests, and legal requirements as the bases for these activities, as applicable.

Applications and Employers as Independent Controllers

When you apply to a job or express interest in a posting, the information you submit (which may include your resume and contact details) is provided to the relevant employer. That employer then independently determines how it uses that information and is responsible for its own compliance with applicable privacy laws. We do not control, and are not responsible for, an employer's collection, use, retention, or disclosure of information it receives through the Platform. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any employer before sharing personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to operate the Platform, such as keeping you signed in, maintaining security, and remembering your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

Service Providers

We share personal information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform, including providers of payment processing, cloud hosting and infrastructure, authentication and database services, and email delivery. These providers may only access and use personal information to perform services on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations to protect it and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or us.

Where permitted and with your consent as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we may send you commercial electronic messages about our services. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every such message or by contacting us; we will act on your request promptly. Service and transactional messages related to your account, purchases, or security are not marketing messages and may still be sent to you.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, accounting, tax, or regulatory purposes (for example, retaining billing and transaction records for the period required by applicable tax law). Information that has been anonymized so it can no longer identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.

Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children and Minors

The Platform is intended for individuals who are at least 16 years of age. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you may use the Platform only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and a copy of it; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion of your information; withdraw consent for processing that relies on your consent; and request that we restrict or stop certain processing. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the appropriate privacy regulator and affected individuals, and will keep records of the breach, as required by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.
