Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410)
D&G Logistics Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and dependable Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410) to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong diagnostic and repair skills to maintain our fleet of commercial trucks and trailers while ensuring safety and reliability.
Position Details
Position: Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410)
Location: 1020 Wellings Road, RM of Sherwood (Regina), SK S4K 0A2
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $33.60 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in commercial trucks and trailers.
Inspect engines, transmissions, drive trains, steering systems, suspensions, axles, and differentials to identify defects and malfunctions.
Repair, overhaul, adjust, or replace components of truck and trailer systems.
Inspect and repair brake systems, air brake components, wheel bearings, hubs, and suspension assemblies.
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on commercial transport vehicles.
Conduct safety inspections and roadworthiness assessments to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and transportation regulations.
Operate computerized diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify repairs.
Test repaired vehicles and adjust systems to ensure proper performance and safety.
Repair or replace lighting systems, electrical wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, and charging systems.
Perform welding or fabrication of minor metal components and brackets when required.
Replace tires, wheels, and related components and perform wheel-end inspections.
Estimate parts and labour required for repairs and maintenance.
Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
Order or recommend replacement parts and advise management regarding future maintenance requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop while complying with occupational health and safety procedures.
Respond to emergency mechanical breakdowns and assist in minimizing vehicle downtime.
Qualifications
College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years, or equivalent technical training.
2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience repairing commercial trucks and trailers.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, truck-trailer systems, air brakes, and diagnostics.
Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair specifications.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment
On-site position (no remote work available).
Morning, Day, Evening, and Weekend shifts may be required.
Fast-paced commercial repair environment.
Criminal record check may be required.
