Requirements
You bring: • 6+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or narrative strategy with demonstrated success across multi-audience environments. We value depth of experience over years. Exceptional candidates with a strong track record are encouraged to apply. • Proven ability to develop and execute communications and marketing strategies at a senior level; not just execute tasks, but set direction and build systems. • Experience in mission-driven, nonprofit, or Indigenous-led organizations; you understand how to communicate with authenticity and accountability. • Strong writing and editorial instincts: you can shape a narrative, sharpen a message, and recognize what will actually land with a given audience. • Experience with impact storytelling and translating complex program outcomes into compelling, accessible communications. • Comfort with digital marketing, content strategy, and the practical channels (social, email, web, media) that reach real audiences. • Experience managing or mentoring others, and a genuine interest in helping people and teams to grow.
You are: • Deeply curious: about the North, about Indigenous entrepreneurship, about the communities and contexts you’re communicating for. • Empathetic in your approach: you listen before you communicate, and you build understanding before you build campaigns. • A builder, not just a manager. You’re energized by the early stages of creating something, not put off by the ambiguity that comes with it. • Collaborative and organizationally savvy: you know how to work alongside program teams, funders, and leadership without losing your own strategic thread.
