What You’ll Do
Install and configure residential and commercial audio visual systems, smart home automation equipment, low-voltage systems, and network-connected devices.
Install televisions, speakers, subwoofers, projectors, touch panels, surveillance systems, automated lighting, motorized shades, centralized hubs, and integrated control systems.
Pull wires through conduits, prepare wire runs, terminate low-voltage wiring by crimping and soldering, and ensure organized cable management.
Assemble and install AV racks and equipment while maintaining proper layout, ventilation, and functionality.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, structural drawings, and installation plans to determine work procedures and installation requirements.
Mount and structurally install displays, projectors, screens, speakers, and related AV equipment.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic and integrated AV systems using testing equipment and specialized tools.
Configure interconnected systems including surround sound, lighting control, home automation, smart controls, and entertainment systems.
Assist with equipment staging, programming, testing, and preparation prior to shipping and installation.
Complete work orders, installation reports, maintenance documentation, and photo records of completed projects.
Maintain communication with project leads, installation technicians, and clients regarding project progress and technical requirements.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while protecting client property during installations.
Occasionally travel outside the GTA and work evenings or weekends when required to complete installations.
Continuously develop technical knowledge through training, certifications, and industry learning opportunities.
Requirements
English communication skills.
High school diploma required; post-secondary education in electronics, AV systems, networking, or related fields is considered an asset.
1–2 years of experience in audio visual installation, low-voltage systems, electronics, networking, or related technical fields.
Strong hands-on mechanical and technical abilities.
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Valid Ontario driver’s license.
