Personal Support Worker Full Time

Full-time personal support worker (PSW) required for a special needs person living in Ottawa

Salary will be $20/hr (30hrs/week)

Required skills:

·      At least one year full-time work experience as a personal support worker in a private home setting

·      Must have basic knowledge of English

·      Must undergo criminal record check

Asset skills:

·      Completion of high school

·      Experience working with special needs children

Duties will include:

·      Waking up the child in the morning and preparing for school

·      Preparing breakfast and lunch bag

·      Supervise the child all the time and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

·      Take child for swimming and other outdoor activities

·      Accompany child to various appointments as needed

·      Shop for food and household supplies on occasions

·      Prepare and serve nutritious meals

·      Feed the child on time, give medicine, give shower, and provide personal care

·      Reading books and putting child to sleep

·      Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents

·      Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens

·      Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
